\u201cDo I have full coverage?\u201d is a popular question around our office.\u00a0 Clients often want to know if they have full coverage or liability only on their auto insurance policy.\u00a0 Unfortunately, there is no such thing as full coverage insurance!<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the problem – \u201cfull coverage\u201d has become a common term, but it can mean lots of different things.\u00a0 If a bank tells you that you need full coverage, they typically mean Collision and Comprehensive coverage.\u00a0 But you might think that full coverage means you have everything we offer.\u00a0 And there are a few important differences between the two.<\/p>\n

Collision is what fixes or replaces your vehicle if you have an accident.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Comprehensive is what fixes or replaces your vehicle after storm damage, theft, vandalism, and other situations that don\u2019t involve an accident.<\/p>\n

These two coverages are usually required<\/strong> by lenders and are sometimes called full coverage.\u00a0 But there are other things you may THINK you have when you say full coverage, that aren\u2019t automatically included.<\/p>\n

One of those items is Rental Reimbursement.\u00a0 This is the coverage that supplies you with a rental car while your car is in the shop for repairs due to a claim.\u00a0 Another is Towing coverage, which tows your vehicle if it breaks down or even runs out of gas.<\/p>\n
